The CGS exhibition of glass medallions to celebrate the olympics is now available online.  There are 83 different medallions all made by individual glass artists.

My medallion was inspired by my other great passion – cycling.  An image of a cyclist was an obvious choice from the beginning but how to make it wasn’t obvious.  After a bit of experimentation I opted for creating powder wafers and assembling them for the final firing.   I’d love to have had more time to work on this, definitely scope for improvement – but you can tell it’s a cyclist 🙂
