I’ve had a wonderful few months visiting parts of Yorkshire that I knew nothing about like Middlesbrough and Doncaster and finding some lovely surprises like Anish Kapoor sculpture in Middlesbrough and the Mansion House and amazing markets in Doncaster. I learnt how the cyclists used to carry their bikes over the top of the Transport Bridge to avoid the toll charges and had an amazing windy and misty drive over the N. York Moors and Blakey Ridge – now on my to do cycling list. I spent a lovely day sampling the delight of beautiful Beverley and also revisited two of my favourite towns for cycling Settle and Knaresborough. Here are the results as coasters:

To launch my new 2016 Tour de Yorkshire range of coasters and prints I am running a competition. Stage 2 of this year’s Tour de Yorkshire will end in Doncaster. Last month I visited Doncaster and did a tour of some of its treasures the result is this image. How many buildings / places / references to Doncaster can you find in this picture? The competition will end on the 20th March. The contestant who provides the greatest number of correct answers will be the winner. In the case of a draw a winner will be selected randomly. The winner will be announced on Facebook and Twitter and notified personally. A boxed set of four coasters chosen by the winner will be posted by the end of March.
