A few weeks ago I spent an amazing few days in the Lake District exploring part of this year’s Tour of Britain route. I was lucky enough to see the Lakes on one of those rare days when the sun is shining and the tops are clear. It was stunning! The outcome of my trip was four new images celebrating the Tour of Britain’s passage through the lakes on the 5th September this year. Here they are as coaster. They will be available to buy from 5th September online and with a few galleries and Art in the Pen, Skipton before hand.
The four image are:
- The Struggle, a long, steep narrow road winding up from Ambleside to join Kirkstone Pass. One of the King of the Mountain stages.
- Ullswater Lake with its stunning mountain background and the classic Ullswater steamer.
- Keswick, showing its town and famous Moot Hall, Derwent Lake, the Castlerigg stone circle and Skiddaw in the background
- Grasmere with Rydal and Grasmere Lake, Dove Cottage where Wordsworth was born and the church where he was buried.
